Low Voltage Technician (Orlando)

Job Description

Far Out Solutions is looking for an experienced, highly motivated qualified Low Voltage technician responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing wiring, equipment

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform all tasks required for installation, maintenance and repair of a complete structured cabling system in a new or existing construction commercial environment. Including but not limited to:
    • Pulling and routing Category 3, Category 5, Enhanced Category 5, Category 6 and Fiber Optic
    • Structured Cable Distribution Systems
    • Copper/fiber optic distribution backbone cabling
    • Pathways/cable support systems
    • Test security and CCTV system devices
    • Intercom/Paging systems
    • Equipment rack/cabinet
  • Pulling low voltage permit in the following areas: door access, wired, wireless, cameras, audio/video, phone systems
  • Terminating phone jacks and dressing and terminating distribution frames (66 or 110 blocks, patch panels
  • Diagnose problems with telephone systems, Voice-Over-IP call managers, intercom, clock, and bell systems.
  • Work from plans, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, and work orders.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, adjust, program, and service electrical equipment; assist end users with set-up, operation and configuration changes as necessary.
  • Interpret and work from wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, blueprints or work orders.
  • Meet schedules and timelines.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Job Type / Category

Skills Desired:

  • Has estimating skills to include general low voltage data cabling, AV cabling, Security cabling. (Bonus)
  • Ability to assist sales and project management resources by generating estimates for low voltage projects.(Bonus)
  • Ability to prepare cost estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work; utilize computer estimating system; review final documents for accuracy and completeness(Bonus)

Required Education, Skills, and Qualifications:

  • 5 plus years in the Low Voltage Systems industry.
  • Ability to pull low voltage permits across the country. (If not which counties/states you can).(Bonus)
  • Experience in low voltage Electrical, Electronic, and IT systems.
  • Experience working with low voltage cabling and/or devices such Door access, wired, wireless, cameras, audio/video, phone systems.
  • Familiarity with BICSI, EIA, TIA, or NEC Standards
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends to meet customer requirements.
